Boy Scout Troop 427 and Venture Crew 427 from Edgemere camped at Antietam National Battlefield on the weekend of Sept. 6 to learn about the historic Civil War battle. They completed a 10-mile hike, saw a musket demonstration, attended a presentation on the life of a Civil War soldier, visited the Antietam Battlefield visitors center and toured the battlefield identifying monuments and working on their compass skills. All Scouts on the outing earned a special patch.
