Jack Williams, age 10, was awarded first prize for the poster he submitted in the national AMVETS Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse contest at the Dundalk American Legion Hall in September. He competed with students from across the nation to design a poster presenting a clear and concise message on the dangers of substance abuse. Williams is shown receiving a prize of $200 and a certificate of appreciation from his grandfather and former AMVETS Post 29 commander Russ Griffey (left) and current post commander George Peters.
