Free programs at the Baltimore County Public Library’s Sollers Point branch,

•   Holiday closing: In observance of Thanksgiving, all BCPL branches will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28. Libraries will resume operation on Friday, Nov. 29.
•   Teen Tuesdays meets Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 5 to 6 p.m for crafts and activities. 
•   Meet and Greet firefighters, for youths of all ages, Friday, Nov. 15, at 10:30 a.m. Baltimore County Fire Department representatives will demonstrate firefighting gear and give truck tours.
•   Xbox Gaming for teens  meets every Wednesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
•   Wii Gaming for teens meets every Thursday from 3:30 to 5  p.m.
•   Lego Fun for youths 6 to 12 meets every Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Supplies provided. Children younger than 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
•   Preschool Story Time for children 2 to 5 years old with an adult meets every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Activities include stories, songs and bouncing, followed by play time. Registration required.
•   Baby Boosters Story Time for infants and toddlers ages 23 months and younger with an adult meets every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Activities include movement, rhymes, stories and music, followed by play time. Registration  required.

•   Holiday closing: In observance of Thanksgiving, all BCPL branches will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28. Libraries will resume operation on Friday, Nov. 29.
•   Anime and Manga Night is set for Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 7 p.m. Teenagers draw and discuss manga and watch anime.
•   A Healthier You meets  Thursday, Nov. 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. A nutritionist discusses healthy eating and answers questions.
•   Books, Coffee and Conversation meets Thursday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. Patrons discuss their favorite books.  
•   Parents for Reading, a discussion group for parents of school-aged children seeking to encourage reading at home, meets Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m.
•   Introduction to the Internet meets Thursday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. Registration required.
•   Smoking cessation classes have started and meet every Monday through Dec. 9, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The classes are free and include free nicotine gum, patches and lozenges. Registration is required; call the library to register or for more information.
•   For Youth by Youth, a practical guide for teenage living for youths ages 11 to 17, meets Thursdays at 4 p.m.
•   One-on-One computer help is available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the computer room. A librarian will assist in setting up e-mail accounts, online applications and more.

•   Baby Story Time for toddlers 23 months and younger with an adult meets every Wednesday at 11 a.m. Activities include stories, songs and rhyming. Registration required.
•   Thursday Knit and Stitch, a drop-in knitting and crocheting group for patrons ages 13 and older meets every Thursday  from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. All levels of experience welcome. Bring your own projects or get ideas from the library’s large selection of craft books. This is not a class, but group leader Paula Dixon can answer basic questions.
•   Computer Room for independent work in a quiet environment for patrons ages 13 and older is open Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
