A two-alarm fire at Ross’ Crab House on North Point Road spread to three
floors of the building and caused heavy damage but no injuries,
according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. The fire
apparently began in the building’s basement and was discovered by
employees at about 7:25 p.m. Fire officials described the blaze as
“contained” by 9 p.m. No damage to nearby buildings was reported,
and one Wise Avenue volunteer firefighter was transported to a local
emergency room for what a county Twitter message described as a
high-blood-pressure-related condition. The more than one dozen
pieces of firefighting equipment that were called to the scene caused
the closure of long stretches of North Point Road and Merritt Boulevard. More to come on www.dundalkeagle.com and in the next edition of The Eagle. |
