County releases holiday schedule
Monday, 23 December 2013 13:31
Baltimore County government offices, as well as the district and circuit courts, will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday and on Wednesday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.
On those days, there will be no charge for metered parking or in county-operated parking garages.
Health Department clinics, libraries, senior centers, landfills and drop-off centers and the county animal shelter will be closed, and CountyRide van service will not run.
On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, county offices, senior centers, Health Department clinics, the animal shelter, landfills and drop-off centers will be open and trash and recycling collection will be normal. Circuit and district courts and libraries will be closed on Christmas Eve.
On New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, December 31, County offices, senior centers, Health Department clinics, the animal shelter, landfills and drop-off centers will be open and trash and recycling collection will be normal. Circuit and district courts will be closed on New Year’s Eve and libraries will close at 5:30 p.m.
Baltimore County residents whose trash would normally have been collected on Wednesday, Dec. 25 should set it out on Wednesday night to be collected on Thursday, Dec. 26.
Baltimore County residents whose trash would normally have been collected on Wednesday, Jan. 1, should set it out on Wednesday night to be collected on Thursday, Jan. 2.
Residents whose single stream recycling collection normally would have occurred on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 are asked to hold those recyclables until the next scheduled day for those items, Wednesday, Jan. 8, or take them to one of the county’s three drop-off centers.
Collections of all types may occur later than usual during the last week of December and the first week of January, because more material must be collected in fewer collection days. If a collection does not occur on the scheduled day during this period of time, the materials should be left out until collection occurs.
All trash and recycling drop-off facilities (including the Eastern Sanitary Landfill) and county offices will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1.  Drop-off facilities and County offices will be open with normal operating hours on Tuesday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve) and Tuesday, Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve).
