New system changes some election tactics by Sara Blumberg
For the 2010 primary election, voters will have a chance to participate in six days of early voting for the first time in Dundalk history starting Sept 3. The extra days were set up to encourage higher voter turnout not only in Dundalk, but across the state as well. State officials passed the early voting initiative in 2008, setting the stage for its debut for this year. Registered voters will have a chance to cast their ballot from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. between Sept. 3 and Sept. 9. The early voting will take place at the North Point Library on Merritt Boulevard. Voting will not take place on Sept. 5, since the library will be closed. Voters can still vote on Election Day, which will be Tuesday, Sept. 14. |
