Frank Kisielewski ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): Frank K. (Chub) Cruising Dundalk in the...

REPLY TO JIM FROM DUNDALK. Yes Jim, I also do remember cruising (and draggin') the streets of Dundalk, but my time was in the 50's. I had a 58 white Impala, fully customized and also loaded with tri-power, 4:11 rear, truck clutch, Smitty glaspaks, etc., etc,. My girl and I used to hit the Circle, then Champs Drive-in in Catonsville, Ameche's at Loch Raven & Taylor Avenue. And yes, like you, I am old now and sitting here at my trusty computer in Fallston, with my girl (yes the same one after 49 years). We still sometimes cruise in our current 58 Impala and reminisce about those teriffic care-free days in wonderful Dundalk in the 50's. I do cherish those memories. Keep on Cruisin', Jim. Yes Jim, I remember dragin' on the streets around Dundalk. Except my time was in the mid to late 50's. For awhile I had my red & white 56 Bel Air (mildly customized, stick,3 dueces, glasspacks, etc.,etc.), then my 58 white Impala (fully customized, tri-power, stick, 4:11, 10" clutch, glasspacks, etc,etc.). Drove the same route as you. The Circle, Champs in Catonsville, Ameches on Taylor Avenue. and so on. All with my girl at my side. What great memories I have from Dundalk. Now like you, I am old now, but living in Fallston, with my girl (my bride of 49 years now), our current 58 Impala, and our great memories of growing-up in Dundalk in the wonderful 50's. Enjoy life, be safe and keep on truckin'..............Chub

Guest: Reply to "Former Resident

At least there is one good thing about Dundalk....we've one less "rat" since you're become a "former resident". Of course does anyone really believe that "former resident" actually lived in Dundalk? If he/she had been, they would have known that politicians from both sides have been booed when residents consider their leadership as being unsatisfactory. BTW.....don't you love people that complain about others being rude and vulgar, and then spew out their own invectives? Sort of makes their argument irrevelant. But that's ok.....everyone is entitled to their opinion.....and I'm sure you're worried about losing your job once Mr. O'Malley is defeated.

Former resident: July 4th parade

Is anyone really surprised that the governor and his family were booed as they rode in the parade? Look, Independence Day is supposed to be a patriotic celebration, a coming together of Americans regardless of party. Do you expect Dundalk folks to understand that? They NEVER take a break from partisan politics OR rudeness and vulgarity. What will the governor's children learn from that day? Hopefully it will be to get a great education so thety never have to live in the rat filled, hate strewn streets of Dundalk.

Darlene Bayne ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): Ronnie Dove Forgotten in Paper

I cannot believe that throughout the entire Dundalk Eagle there was not a word about Ronnie Dove performing. My husband and I go every year to the Dundalk Heritage Festival and one of the biggest reasons other than to celebrate Dundalk, is to see Ronnie Dove. How could you mention all the other acts and leave out such a part of Baltimore. This was his 16th year performing at the Heritage Festival. I just had to write and tell you how disappointed I was in your paper this week. Darlene Bayne

KC Jacksonville: Heritage Fair and Parade

Drove from Florida to Dundalk to surprise family and attend the fair and parade. Once again the volunteers (and those that worked for the sponsors and vendors) did an awesome job! The Dundalk community should be proud, but please don't take the festivities for granted. For those who live there, and those of us that have moved away, please support the volunteers and the sponsors/vendors throughout the year in whatever way you can and let them know how much their efforts are appreciated! GOOD JOB DUNDALK!!!

Robert M Kain 3rd ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): Proud of my town

I work @ Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in the Imaging Dept. as an X-Ray technologist. I have been taking care of patients for 26 years. I am most proud to be working for people with whom I have grown up with my entire life. When new doctors come to Bayview to start their residencies, they will oftern ask me "Where are you from?" I proudly tell them "Right here". I grew up on O'Donnell St, near Fait Ave. and the Corral Inn, and reside in Dundalk, just 4 miles from Bayview. When someone made a disparaging remark about "people from Dundalk", I invited him to see : the Heritage Fair/Parade, North Point State Park, The Dundalk Historical Society, even to go Kayaking around Bear Creek, Lynch Cove, etc. We have a strong sense of community, our people are hard-working, forthright, and shoot straight from the hip. God Bless America on this 4th of July, and be proud to be from Dundalk!!

Old Termite ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): Getting old

The older I get, the more I miss Dundalk. The best were working daylight in the coke ovens, hitting Mickey's for that first beer, meeting up with the crew at the topless bar, getting dinner from Captain Harvey's, drinking at Harold's, parking at #1 lot to get some sleep and doing it all again until a short turn and starting 11 to 7. The only people that understood you also understood the swing calendar for #3 crew. I remember watching the tall ships in 1976 from the top of the belt lines. Great how one's memory turns the bad into good, the tolerable into great and happy into the total experience.

Guest ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): April Fools

The only thing wrong about that now infamous April Fools Joke published in the Dundalk Eagle is that the words "April Fools" did not appear at the end of the comical article. I knew it was a really good April Fools Joke within ten seconds of seeing it on the front page. I am a lifelong fan of and creator of April Fools Jokes. The rules are simple: don't get anyone hurt - physically or otherwise, and you must say "APRIL FOOLS" as soon as the joke has been delivered. The Eagle's joke was well created and crafted; and I enjoyed it.

Dundalk girl ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): Ah, lighten up!

Please, folks! Your "elderly parents" were not frightened by the April Fool article. Otherwise they'd be in a catatonic state with the Eagle's reporting on our plethora of drug busts, shootings, robberies and vandalism. Dundalk is not Shangrila. Instead I think that, "You scared Granny & Pop Pop!" was just a ruse. In the celebrated Dundalk way we just had folks who truly got irked because they didn't get the joke. Dundalk folks take ourselves WAY too seriously. I think it's just weariness from battling vandals and vermin.
